Event also clahed with the Mizuno Mount Faber run. At first was torn between the 2 events but somthing told me to go for this event instead and never regret.
Did the 45km Endurance Challenge. 3 x15km on the runway. Tougher than Trifactor 60km bike reason being the whole race course was open and there were many instances of strong headwing unlike coastal road where you are shielded to a certain extent by the trees around. Also, so many type of cyclists and skaters and most are the leisure type so not easy to draft or form pelotons.
But the icing on the cake was a made-by-ELM medal! Hurray! Looks great not like the Mizuno/U-Run cheapo medal type.
I think I've figured out something;-
Singapore Biathlon (by Navy)
National Runway Cycling & Skating (by Air Force)
AHM (by Army)
And all the medals made by ELM. Hurray!
Will be back for 2013 definitely.

The runway cycling does not seem to be very popular. Only 2 posts in the forum. Probably because it clashes with Mizuno Mt Faber Run. But then, even if there is a clash, there should be posts from Runway cycling participants.

Did the 45km Endurance Challenge. 3 x15km on the runway.. how much is fee.. thought leisure 15km is free..like Limited Edition NRWCS 2012 Dri Fit Shirt .. http://www.safra.sg/...aspx?pageid=448 nice..
saw your activities ...Singapore Biathlon (by Navy)..National Runway Cycling & Skating (by Air Force)..AHM (by Army).."Tougher than Trifactor 60km".."many instances of strong headwind unlike coastal road where you are shielded to a certain extent by the trees around".."many type of cyclists and skaters and most are the leisure type so not easy to draft or form pelotons"..wah, you must a pro-cyclist runner type.. drafting some more..wha..pelotons..don't tell me..OCBC competitive one also you gone before..
ok..just to say..strong headwind today is south/south east..Paya Lebar Air Base..even ECP while fort road going up to changi is strong headwind.. so coastal road is no headwind..uncle met a lightning thunderstorm headwind..that one was south/southwest from sumatra storm..months of may and before as far as december..
yap.. bro Noob must be SAFRA..enjoying great discounts..some more biker kaki friends..or pelotons.. so talk about pelotons..some sgRunners don't even know the term.. "A peloton is the "bunch", the "field" or the "pack" of cyclists that consists of the main group of cyclists in a race"..so look like bro Noob can start any forum on cycling..the expert and skillful one..so got go bintan like 200km challenge..west and east side?
yap.. 3 posts...with uncle..cycling because of the need to train..not specialising..but for endurance..going kluang, johor for 75km (day 1) and 100km (day 2) next week for Triathlon Boot Camp..
so, bro Noob.. must be 1/2 ironman or ironman ready in fitness with that kind of biking prowess and distance.. respect.. and with this post.. uncle encourages more of cycling experiences to be shared..and take parting in them..so..bro Noob..takes charge to inspire biker-runners..who want to tri tris..bye bye

1st time join this event. 45km endurance race, plenty of H20, except one stretch of the road was a narrow and some inline skaters are taking about half the lane, as they skate not only straight but sideway to gain momentum.
just nice for my warmup for triathon which was delay and held in Sep,, this year seem like OSIM is not sponsoring...didnt see OSIM triathlon...thought it a new traithlon event. stated as Singapore Tri.

Hi KPP, first and foremost congrats on your 1000th post and your promotion to Super Runner
Alamak, but dun quit after the 1000th la. Still got new and perhaps final rank i.e Super Regular Runner to aim for. Not sure how many posts u need to qualify for that one
Yes, the leisure was free but the endurance challenge 3x15km (cyclist) pr 2x15km (skate) is not but the goodies, medal and the dry fit cycling jersey (or tee) was all worth it IMHO. Afterall, this one got goverment backing and pro-family theme unlike most other race events out there whcih are more of profit-seeking....and then give crappy medal. OK I digress.
Anyway, I not some cycling expert la. Just go to these race events and "chiong" as best I can. See cycling/running/swimming styles of others and find out why; that's all.
Of course, if got chance to race with my boy-boy, then go for non-competitive type. But if boy-boy want to stay at home, then it's time to chiong.
Yes been to OCBC competitve also but as a forumner mentioned before, I think this National Runway Cycling one is more worth it. More fun also. The race venue is somewhere near Paya Lebar and not central like OCBC. A bit east-side bias so will turn off some living in the west.
Hope to see more people participating in this one next year. We must support our 'national' events
And to the organiser, keep up the good work.
only pet peeve I have is to gain entry, must go through metal detector and got one soldier guy on a jeep pointing GPMG at our faces but finger not at trigger and headbanging to the background song. WTH???
Is there any aircraft static display?

There was 2 in fact. The second one was beside. And both carry missiles labeled "inert"

Oops, I was counted 4 laps becoz I mistakenly passed start line after the designated 3loops. Imagin how many loops a pro could do before cut off time...
wah... so u went for the fourth round? Or did you U-turn and head back to the finish?
