hi Dream Runner,

i'm trying to learn more about the trails available around MacRitchie Reservoir -- where is the "Northern Trail"? does it link MR to the Pierce Reservoir parks?

on maps, it looks like the SICC (private property) is in between, so i was wondering whether there's any through road...

thanks!

Hi Daveid,

the Northern Trail is the approx. 4km route that links MR to the roads branching off from SICC to Venus Drive or Island Country Club Road. There are 2 ways to get to Pierce Reservoir, one which passes through SICC (private property) and parts of the golf course, the other option via Island Country Club Road/Thomson Road/Casuarina/Old Upper Thomson/...

Avoid passing through SICC unless you have the necessary permission.

Thats the little I know.

Hope this helps.

Others who are more familiar with the area and regulations may wish to throw more light.

Hi I'm new to this forum, just wondering what are the routes that you take and the distance covered? are there any runners in the SGH/outram area on weekdays? :)

With 3 weeks of training duly completed, the Sunbirds have built up a reasonable base from which to reinforce. Over the next few weeks, more on proper running form and posture will be dispensed and practiced, with the Sunbirds strengthening their endurance base as the distances get progressively longer....

The entire flock completed the run within flight limits of 4hrs, registering good improvements in pace and distance conditioning. Although the aches and muscle-tightness were apparent (as always in such long distance runs), most of the Sunbirds have completed their longest runs to date, and the endorphin levels were way high in a number of the birds.

This part of training is always the most enjoyable since the hardest and most challenging runs would have been done, and those who are still standing would feel a sense of achievement of having gone through the mills and survived....yes, the Sunbirds are all survivors of the 12 weeks of progressive mileage buildup, often times contending with the unpredictable elements, with many going beyond themselves at times to complete the tasks at hand...

Hi. Is Team Fatbird thinking of doing a similar Ops NightHawk for Sundown 2011?

If so, would there be something catered for those who will be attempting both the Full Marathon in May and the Ultra Marathon in June?

Thanks.

Team FatBird is planning for Ops NightHawk 2011, marathon (full and half) training to prepare runners for the Sundown Marathon 2011. There are no plans for specific UltraMarathon training, but the 100km runners can tap on the full marathon training to supplement their own extended mileage runs.

Will provide more info when we have them.
