I know it is CNY and everybody wants to wear new clothing - but if it rains within 2 days before the run, the trail may be wet and muddy so please try not to wear new shoes.

Also, please note there are no toilets or water point in the Tampines MBT and finally although there is a nice toilet at Sun Plaza Park, there is no shower facilities.

Tekko,

thanks for the advisory on the shoes and shower facilities.

Should we wear red to be in the mood too?

Those KTV kings and queens should also come prepared with some authentic CNY songs for some group singing, while smelling the New Year blooms along the journey :)

Wearing red (or at least some bits of reds) is a good idea. I support!

Almost 200 runners turned up at the River Promenade (below UOB Plaza) to celebrate the Tiger New Year in the Gong Xi i-Run. The Team FatBird volunteer crew was already by the FatBird statue at 6pm to receive the 100-plus drinks, mandarin oranges, tee-shirts and wrist-bands to be given out to the runners for good luck in the New Year....thanks to the support from Health Promotion Board, organizers of the i-Run Series in Singapore.

The moment many of the 100 registered trainees have been waiting for...At the break of Dawn, runners were seen streaming into The Nest (PlayGround @ Big Splash) for the kickoff of Operation NightHawk 2010, Team FatBird's marathon preparatory training for Sundown Marathon. This time saw the arrival of a number of experienced SunBird graduands, as well as many new faces too, some of whom were doing their first half-marathons and full marathons...

Eighty had gathered at the MacRitchie Reservoir (MR) centre at 9pm. The excited chatter and preparations turned the usually quiet gathering point into a hive of activity, with a few curious onlookers soaking in the atmosphere too. Other than the trainees, a capacity team of Trainers and Running Guides were on hand to provide support and management of the run. The registration desk was signing trainees orderly, while small groups had gathered to discuss their plans for the night, others were taking photos and wondering what the night had in store for them...

Wahh, all darn serious, fingers on buttons. Like the shot, wondering if it is the cam or the photographer.

Hi,

i do not know much about this. But am I allowed to join you all to run? According to those photos attached, it seemed that many runners enjoyed..

Hi Tira,

this is a specific marathon training program (Operation NightHawk 2010) to prepare runners for the upcoming Sundown Marathon in May. However, the registrations are already filled, and it has become a closed-door event.

You are still able to join many of the weekly Team FatBird Runs on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings; as well as fortnightly Weekender Runs. Please join the Team FatBird fan page for schedules and information.

We look forward to having you at our group runs.

Cheers!

anthony ah... today woo i-run bo ah?

yo RinoH,

i-Run @ RP is on, even in rainy weather.

We have a wet-weather program where we do some 'dymanic aerobics' to burn off some.

If the rain does stop (and there are no signs of lightning), we will run a 5km easy as a group.

btw, what is your TFB Name? ;)
