moin kleenertiger

i don't know where i'm staying cos haven't decide yet whether to travel down on friday or saturday to berlin. if i'm meeting anyone of you, maybe i can travel down on friday. are you running in berlin too?

about chionging to disco - depends on my mood, motivation, training condition and x-factor.

last year this happened to me, not recommended for runners :

1. arrived in berlin on saturday afternoon and collected bib number

2. watched inline skating marathon + makan

3. went to café and then disco until 3:30 am

4. slept at 4 am

5. woke up at 7 am, shower and went to starting point

6. marathon started at 9 am

7. took pictures along the way (while running)

8. massage at 25 km point (& more photos taken)

9. ate fruits (bananas, apples & whatever) at 26.5 km

10. must go to toilet for big business in restaurant at 28 km

11. hungry, searching for food again & photos

12. walk-a-jog from 32 km onwards

13. phototaking before finishing line

14. completed marathon in 4:05 hrs :Big Grin:

15. travel 300 km back home

OP - must do better this year, i guess.

no la... think only need to run 3.10.

i'll be arriving in Berlin on 23 Sep Tue, departing on 29 Sep Mon.

moin imd

wahh... 3:10. started training already or not? i'm still enjoying lots of short holidays and weekends getaway, very lazy to do the long runs.

i live in hamburg, 300 km away from berlin. if you or anyone else, crazy enough to come to hamburg, there is a bus ride from berlin to hamburg (www.berlinlinienbus.de) and can return on the same day back to berlin. the ride takes 3:10 hrs (just like your target time) and costs between 33 to 41 euro per person (return, depending on the time). if you are lucky enough, you can get train ticket for 29 euro (one way) and the travelling time is between 1:30 to 2 hrs (www.bahn.de) - of course you have to book this one very early. if you are coming, i can chauffer you around.

by the way, there are also lots of things to see in berlin. just ask me - i used to be a berliner (doughnut), now a hamburger, luckily not a frankfurter.

by the way, where are you staying in berlin and how much is the exchange rate now?

infos : www.berlin.de or www.hamburg.de

OP - june : usa, july : barcelona, august : copenhagen/manchester/dublin/rome?, september : -, october/november : singapore? :Big Grin:

training? more like slacking... hhahaha. does 84km count?

wow, after a marathon, & you can drive 300km back home.. amazing... i'll be so scared of cramps to drive anywhere..

haven't planned any itinerary yet in Berlin. tks for the links. but after berlin, we'll be aiming for budapest marathon the following week since we are already in Europe. So kill 2 marathons with 1 stone.. hhaa

we're staying in Checkpoint Inn, less than 2km from start point(based on website), costs Euro 85 p/n. i booked early this year. Seems accomodation is really expensive, especially those around start point. And lots of accomodation fully booked already.

exchange rate about 1 Euro = S$2.15

Only 3.10

I think I can also do it ... at the 30km point :LMAO:

Which petrol do you consume ar? I need to fill myself up with that gas too so that I can press more oil.

Anyway, I'm quite sure you can make it. All the best okay!!

I'll try to do it (qualify) in Singapore where it is cheaper and relatively flat too.

now petrol too expensive.. gotta rely on cheaper alternative, namely training hard & slacking harder.

i try to make it. if not, try harder at budapest marathon, if not join you in Singapore & try. so 3 chances this year. I'm sure u can do it too... with determination & maybe rope in our sports scientist Philip to help achieve better performance.
