Hal Higdon:

Arthur Lydiard:

The late Arthur Lydiard, arguably the most influential person ever in the history of distance running, passed away on December 12th in Houston while on a United States tour. He was 87 years old.

"Arthur Lydiard is one of the outstanding athletics coaches of all time. He has produced many Olympic medal winners and world record breakers. Lydiard is the man whose simple gospel of hard work and enthusiasm can make any runner, no matter in what part of the world they may live, run faster and farther."

MAPP or Masters Athlete Physiology & Performance


The author is a rower but his articles on exercise physiology is simply great albeit a bit technical for some of us! The webpages were last updated a couple of years ago but the concept still holds.
