@Lady Ice, you can choose either Team sgRunnersUnited or Team sgRunnersHi10!

Since you are ready to start, uncle shall start-off on 6/2 (Saturday) with Team sgRunnersHi10!..as Team Captain...and you as co-Team Captain...we shall lead the way...

You can still complete Team sgRunnersUnited at later date till March 7...

For all Team members.. you can start ANYTIME ANYPLACE....no obligations, no commitment for any Meet-ups...Just Do IT👌

Best wishes, run your best and be ranked for 10KM x 4 relay team : <Asia> <Singapore>. 👍

Based on ASICS World Ekiden 2020 Challenge sgRunners 10KM record -

As Team Captain, uncle invite Friends (Members of Teams) by default to RunKeeper. Both Members and uncle can view each other performance with trust and confidence, who are Running or Not....those Not, better practice...

Of course, during practice runs...these are unofficial Running records....which if you have decided to become official...just submit result manually by individual member

how - screen capture visually [HH:MM:SS] on date and time, optional - include "link" of that activity which includes GPS Map and  Hourly Split Time 1-10KM ++.. elevation would mean if you are "cross-country"...expect to be up-and-down... so if uncle has done Hill Run say...ascent from Mount Faber Hill...to NUS Sports Stadium (Lower Kent Ridge Road)...

submit-Mount-Faber.jpg

of course, you can see at 9KM mark, uncle "running" like carry punctured tyres...because that is at Kent Ridge Hill accent...15degree for at least for 1km...sibei siong...puff puff puff....from Hort Park...entering to Science Park 1...on route to NUS campus...

climb.jpg

Please edit your Title as for THE WORLD ATHLETICS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP, BATHURST 21 GLOBAL CHALLENGE (1 FEBRUARY - 21 MARCH 2021)...

settings

viewable.jpg

so will uncle attempt and submit this one for this race?...Yes, because Cross Country is not Road Run...and definitely from the organizer perspective...looking at all other Team Relays performance so far.. most are hitting 1:30 on average...especially the Aussie Cross Country Teams...

So, before you submit or attempt the Race Event at Runkeeper...let's play by the Rule and Be Fair...Cross Country Race...and honourably represent Singapore <Asia> best in Cross Country...

Wah....record of 2020 already broken for 10KM sgRunners for Men's....52:51..

I will be going through mud and a lot of water (so much rain). If am lucky the weather will get colder and will be frozen underneath, then can go faster

If the weather condition is "unfavourable"... then decide...

as for uncle, the virtual "hilly run route" will be uncle's choice as challenging cross country alternative based on uneven terrain..and for practice run on 6/2...revisit and repeat with better timing...with faster pace...

anyone wants to join uncle for 10KM "Hilly Route - Mount Faber Hill - NUS Sports Stadium"...6/2?

since our timeline for selection of Team sgRunnersFinal4 is March 7...best sgRunner timing shall be based primary criteria - Cross Country route only....unlike Roads, fallen rain water is "siphoned" to underground pipes or rivers...few hours later, roads are dried fast with everygreen sunshine...hot and humid...

ASICS World Ekiden 2020 has been ups and downs... and we have yet "the secret fast runner" appearing.. but we already have a "best" runner in our midst... guess who?  definitely not uncle...🤫

Hi guys, as much as I want to meet up with you guys,  I won't be able to make it for this Sunday morning run.

I will probably run on my own after CNY.

Have fun!

Edit: For those who have never been to Macritchie, there are $1/$2 lockers at the toilet near the Mushroom Cafe. You can change up there, put your stuff in the lockers, and make your way to The Paddles Lodge. Or better yet, you guys may want to consider just meet and start at the Mushroom Cafe, which is usually what I will do.

Beast, thanks for the lockers service. For those who intend to trail run Macritchie, Mushroom Cafe also got shower facilities.

But uncle do not intend to hang around at macritchie...but more to start from little Hill Ascent of Macritchie...and move on to Rifle Range Trail and exit Rifle Range Road to Bukit Batok...

The Paddles Lodge - we meet and discuss on anything with apps issues, routes best for Macritchie...clockwise or anti-clockwise better...plan for next meet...and importantly...after 8:30am....we can split up or OTOT if want to follow uncle to Park Ranger Stn/Tree Top Walk about 3.5KM away...

Please acknowledge here by Friday, who will be expected to meet at The Paddles Lodge so that we shall not have missed you when we OTOT after 8:30am...

Thank you, again, no obligation and no commitment. There is always an invitation for 2nd meet and you are already been informed where is likely to be next...Dairy Farm/Bukit Timah Hill/Zhonghua Park/Chestnut Park...

congratulations...Team sgRunners2021 has started....good job thelonelyrunner...

thelonelyrunner09825376d19bf5c8.jpg

@Lady Ice, if you want, you can schedule your run, anytime, anyplace.

Team sgRunnersUnited, if you are confident and will want to go, please do so...anytime, anyplace.

anyplace - as long as you have a "cross-country" route - could be a football field or even combo of road and trail...it all depends on your choice of challenge...

Reminder to ALL: you have an option of direct "race" timing with runkeeper apps or the other option of manual submission of result (if you need help to crop and present your result in a presentable format - just PM uncle).

Oh okay... I thought you guys were just intending to complete a 11km loop around MacRitchie.

Also, clockwise would be more challenging as you will experience more uphill and downhill and more distance in the trails. Anti-clockwise is flatter, and you get a 1km scenic view of the SICC golf course and reservoir on a non-trail path.

the idea was "initiated" by starfinder, so he was wondering if we could meet and run together as trail run...

uncle said let's meetup with other members who may consider starfinder's good idea macritchie as a trail route... and as uncle as said, Team sgRunnersUnited,  Anytime, Anyplace...OTOT...

uncle has an urban trail which has two overhead bridges, with PCN along canals, with upslope and downslope underpass which fit a "trail route"...so Anytime (4:45am), Anyplace (10KM "trail" route)...OTOT...Completed Virtual Race...submit manually to 3 Teams...

beast, will you want to consider - "I thought you guys were just intending to complete a 11km loop around MacRitchie. Also, clockwise would be more challenging as you will experience more uphill and downhill and more distance in the trails. Anti-clockwise is flatter, and you get a 1km scenic view of the SICC golf course and reservoir on a non-trail path."...no obligation, no commitment.....thelonelyrunner also never say he wans to consider running this route?

Meeting on Sunday @ machritchie is still ON...hope to see both starfinder and Arvin Tunas (and others)...we shall discuss, perhaps join to run...and hopefully you can make up your mind on your chosen 10KM 'trail" route...

Sorry Uncle, wouldn't be joining you tomorrow for the run. Got to prepare for CNY lah.

As for the actual run, i will probably do it at Chestnut Park. Never run there before even though had been there. Trails are easier than Macritchie, definitely better for my poor legs 😅

no problem bro...

same here... got CNY Reunion Dinner tonite with uncle's mum...(uncle's dad being passed away 2 years ago)...

Chestnut Park...being there before...both run/hike and bike trails are separated...

yes78120174b0c367d9.jpg

160403_-_chestnut_nature_park_cychestnut

the difficult challenge will be the terrain...and you may have to include uncluded run trail of about 6-8km...maybe to bukit timah or bukit panjang trail...

starfinder.jpg

if you can continue your best effort with bedok reservoir on sub-60 for 10KM you did in 2020...you are ok to do that..since that is an urban "trail" route for competition (local).

You are reminded...submit only your best time and effort. You have this option besides the "Race" event Start from runkeeper like we had in 2020.

uncle can monitor your attempt at runkeeper and if you want uncle to prepare visually your Image for submission, just PM uncle.

For Teams sgRunnersUnited, sgRunners2021, sgRunnersHi10!

"trail" routes are just options...

trail-in-sg.jpg

remember: weather condition, DIY hydration, nutrition and washroom facilities just in case, may make your 10KM "Virtual Race" route very uncertain...what if there was thunder lighting "alert"?

uncle completed 10KM "urban trail" option...challenges being with overhead bridges to cross expressway and road being "divided" by safety railings...as well as there was an underpass..and run pathways of PCN are not straight like roads...if rain or thunder lightning alerts, can always head to a safe place to take shelter.

Best wishes. CNY is here, so take all things in perspective with priority. Run (exercise) is not an essential activity, just passionate with self interest only.

Nursing a slight ankle strain so probably won't do serious trail for a while, just road based with some elevation.
