Not really had ran at your area, but in the past not more than 3 times. Yes, running around the Industrial area can be congested because this is not an open space, simply area structured for goods to be sent and delivered and the roads are never too wide. Now that Parks and PCNs are congested, not surprised that runners are spotted here.

Serving SHN is different from WFH...Stay Home Always or else if found non-compliance, offence includes fine, jail or BOTH. It is a Total Lockdown for your case.

Making fun of Liverpool fans was just a stupid idea.

Someone thought they were clever coming up with the concept of MAWA man (Must Always Walk Alone). But the one approving the concept really should know better.

The idea of using mascots is probably just a copy-paste hack job from Japan. But the concept of using mascots (or Yuru-chara) is one that is deeply entrenched in the Japanese psyche.

Kumamon is probably one of the most well-known one. But my personal favourite is Nyango Star. He’s an apple that’s been inhabited by the spirit of a dead cat, and he absolutely shreds on the drums. Very cute but also very metal.

Yup!

Here are two of his must watch videos:

When you're overqualified for the job

BABYMETAL ~紅月-アカツキ- AKATSUKI~ Drum Cover

Buy I digress. (But the two videos will keep you entertained and I still highly recommend watching it!)

The point is that while we do have our mascots to drive social messages and campaigns, I don't think  they are as deeply entrenched in our psyche as the Japanese. And while characters like Singa, Smiley, Water Wally have endured, there are probably a lot of forgettable mascots we have over the years.

And even if we must have some mascots, pls do a professional and polished job. Not some hack job that probably won't cut it as a design undergraduate project. (Actually that is a little insulting cos I see some student project much more polished than this)

This is what the Japanese COVID-19 mascot looks like. This

Which mascots do you think will have a better chance of getting the message across?

Latest: Man charged with wearing mask improperly, leaving house without reason and attacking police

(CNA News)

A man is accused of leaving his house without a reasonable excuse during the "circuit breaker" period

... is accused of leaving his home ....around lunchtime on Apr 18. The circuit breaker had been in force for more than a week at that time.

He is said to have eaten and drunk at a public bench at a nearby block without reasonable excuse.

Quote

The penalties for incorrectly wearing a mask are a maximum six months' jail, a fine of up to S$10,000, or both for the first offence. Repeat offences draw double the jail terms and fines.

The above penalties are the same for leaving your house without a reasonable excuse.

How about a different kind of race?

If you have been on YouTube, you would probably have seen one of those bar chart races on a wide range of topics like box office, best selling comics and of cos the current COVID-19 pandemic.

I was looking for one comparing the number of cases in our region (specifically South East Asia) and could not find one. So I decided to try to make one myself. It was not as hard as I thought and really the hardest part was compiling the data.

For good measures, I included Taiwan and Hong Kong - the 2 countries a lot of armchair COVID-19 wizards like to compare our govt's effort with. I thought about including South Korea but decided that their huge number of cases will probably skewed the chart too much. And won't make for an interesting race.

So have a look and see how Singapore race ahead of our neighbours in a race no one want to see us winning. (But of cos the number of cases does not tell the complete story as I has attributed to earlier)

I will probably continue to update the chart monthly until the pandemic run its course.

Enjoy the race!

I used a website called Flourish Studio to animate the bar chart.

This is a good guide if you want to give it a go. But I largely ignore using python and what not (step 3) and just make sure I format the data correctly in Excel before I import it to Flourish Studio.

Personally I think the covid spread among the population is contained. Now the focus is in the dormitories which I believe will be contained too. I am looking at the lifting of the CB in July, as I believe the government will play it safe to have the figures at very low level to do so.

There are people complaining about all these measures in place, but they did not realize all these measures are also to avoid a total lock down. At least we can still go out buy food and of course, do our usual runs, albeit solo.
