They don't. They are just "suggested initiatives" like many of the challenges.

You would have noticed that some of the challenges suggested things like 3x30 minute workouts, but if you go for a 90 min run the virtual club is going to count that you completed the challenge anyway.

actually, yes, mainly for prizes

true, whatever effort you do...say short of 30min (-1)...and more than 30min (+1)...they will add you tally.. distance x 10 points...

however, your challenge will not be 3x30mins and will not win prize..because you don't meet the criteria...must be 30min x 3...and also you must take selfie and do "activities" as stated..

Let's take this week 20min challenge - Catch the Sun!

make sure it is not 20min in the night, or moon behind or afternoon sun...

Some of the challenges don't need you to post on social media, but yes you will have to comply to its targets... like 3x30 mins must be recorded over 3 sessions of 30 mins... there are some like just record 1 session of 10km or 60-90 minutes...if you don't like posting on social media can just aim for the prizes for these challenges...

top 100 clocks about 20km a day... so if you can't match the speed of the runners, you must catch up by clocking in more time to complete those mileage...it is still fair in the sense that points are clocked based on mileage and not speed...

yes, you must read and understand more about the SCSM Virtual Club platform better...participate will be great...it is worth all the time because IT IS A TRAINING BASE PLATFORM...

it is not only about getting on with the distance...or speed..or *prizes..but there are variety of "activities" that are included...doing "resistance" workouts...even steps (up and down)...as part of the Challenges...

5 loops of 400m (5KM run pace)...or 20min-30min (Heart Rate Zone 3)

1KM Cool Down...after exiting from the Stadium

Total 5KM in 1 Session...

Recently, find that Sports Hub and surrounding area..Garden By the Bay (East), Tanjong Rhu and Area around Sports Hub is very conducive for anything Run (Exercise)...

8-12 km is perfect considering if you want also to include Nicoll Highway..and F1 Pit (Promenade)

the norm seems to be if participant puts in daily run (exercise) of 12km-15km, you can be in top 100 in SCSM Virtual Club...

Week 7...there are lots of 10KM sessions..wonder what will be in Week 8? 12KM - 15KM may be...

yap...ultra Runner will have an advantage on later stage...

This was reported in official in Weekly Roundup of Sports happenings in Singapore (5-11) in Yahoo News Singapore on 12 October

Meaning SCSM Kids' Virtual Race format has been Parents raced alongside their children in two different categories - 1.5 KM or 3KM.

No official announcement on the Virtual Race (Grand Finale)... but just take note on the Progressive Distance on the VR over the weekends.

If for those who are participating in the 5KM or 10KM VR Format, then over the Past Weeks, only VR 5KM is completed, and not VR 10KM. However, there had been lots of 10KM Challenges.

The 20KM consists of 2 Sessions to Complete 20KM.

Coming to 8 Weeks heading to Dec 4-5-6 Weekend, there should be VR (10KM), VR (18KM) and VR (20KM).

Uncle's opinion and perhaps speculation, if we were to be like London Marathon 2020 Virtual Race..1 Session 0000-2359. Otherwise, Multiple Sessions (2-3 Sessions) 21KM/42KM Dec 5 (0500) to Dec 6 (2359).

Advise to all who want to participate on SCSM VR (Grand Finale), the best preparation is simply just participant on Week - 8 to 15... VR (Weekdays) and Challenges (Weekdays).

Strengthening in Run with Speed Training and Go Longer and Faster with Progression Distance VR (Run Fast and Long with High Tempo).

This Weekend (Week 8), we shall have a 20KM VR (2 Sessions)...7KM and 13KM...good enough for 1/2 Marathon warm-up VR...make sure see who's fastest in the Leaderboard...

yesterday, uncle did a back-to-back within 12 hours.. yesterday afternoon was almost "feel" like 40C... almost DNF due to lack of hydration....

Just register SCSM Virtual Club, participate in the Weekday Challenges and especially the Weekend Virtual Races...because VR (Grand Finale) format shall be likely a hybrid of VR (weekend) and Challenges (weekday).

let uncle share about Weekday Challenges starting Week 9...then personal Training Plan to handle Virtual Race [Marathon]...for the next 6 Weeks...

Registered 3 Community Challenges (with prizes for social media participation)..actually it is because these sessions offer Retry Challenge (unlimited)...

For the Top 3 Participants...say why they can be shown to have awesome mileages...because they RETRY more...

Let's say Weekday Challeges Sessions..Mon - Fri...Training Tasks...TT

1 TT per day can be combo of either 6KM or 10km plus 30mins (Walk/Jog)...

Importantly, the Distance is the Mileage...Points (Distance x10) rewarded...for CREDITS on Discount to Purchase Merchandise...

Daily Back-to-Back TTs in Week 9, you would expect uncle to average 10KM, Mon - Fri.. = 50KM Total.

Later today uncle shall announce, 2 Weekend VR which is Ranking with Speed...

Last Week, it was 7KM + 13KM = 20KM...so what's is this Weekend VR (Fri [5am] - Sun [2359])...which uncle shall pick Sat to complete BOTH VRs within 12-hour instead of 24-hour.

Back-to-back TT Sessions are tiring but rewarding, because your body must learn to recover faster; with proper rest, nutrition and hydration intake equally important; bodily muscles repair and recovery faster...

meaning uncle must at present state of fitness (peak performance) be INJURY-FREE ...and with no pain...PAINLESS...

Mentally be prepared, if 15KM, 7KM, 20Km = 42KM is uncle's strategy...then Virtual Race is to complete 3 Sessions Marathon (Weekend Fri [5am]-Sun [2359])...

Also, need to find preferred routes for 15KM, 7KM and 20Km for the 3 Sessions with Hydration/Nutrition Top-Up Stations...say around Neighbourhood, PCNs, NParks, City Roads with uninterrupted Traffic - human, baby prams, otters crossing, bikers and traffic...are  often very challenging...

uncle finds prefered route on 11KM Southern Ridges quite "uninterrupted"...with Restrooms (mostly unused) and Vending Machines (often top-up with enough Drinks and Snacks)...unlike ECP...
