The following video was admitted into evidence today in the Singapore State Court. It was taken more than 2km after the missed U-turn happened. Ashley Liew can be identified as the first runner wearing a white singlet and black shorts.

Defamation trial: Marathoner Ashley Liew says allegations by Soh Rui Yong was ‘out of the blue and unprovoked’

The whole case centers on whether Ashley indeed slowed down when his competitor made a mistake.

In a previous post, I suggested that the official timing mat installed during the route would probably settle this easily.

However, it dawns on me that semi-professional runners like Ashley will definitely has his own GPS watch during the race. So if Ashley was indeed telling the truth about slowing down, simply disclosing his running data during the race will prove conclusively one way or another.

The fact that Ashley has not done so is suspicious. The fact that SRY's lawyer never ask for the data is even more so. Even if the lawyers are ignorant, surely SRY is not.

in Day 2... defence arguments seem to be to establish...summed up well here...from SRY FB

key.jpg

and the Judge seems to want to establish...where ("grass patch" argued by Liew's lawyer) and when that 700m of "slowing down" took place...

...and if Slow Down is not because for Fair Play...but more Slow Down is really...run Slow due to really Liew cannot run fast...then not Winning a Medal because slowing down for Fair Play...is not really the intention...it is because as a competitive Runner...Ashley Liew...you are a proven as a slow runner with no hope of Medal Podium...and that really will hurt Ashley's reputation and integrity...

it is like....you don't deserve at all for Fair Play because you didn't really run slow for the purpose of what was the intention realizing that everyone else except you (Liew) has taken a wrong route or U-Turn...you actually never did want to slow down...but actually run slowly...and worst perspective of the truth...taken the "advantage" of an err in the route of others (meaning - the rest of competitors need to cover extra mileage)...and have caught up...and then...

a summary of Day 2

interesting development in SA..contesting in the 2020 SA Elections..

SA86f7f15ec28ca92d.jpg

the newly created "professional" team was part of the "oldies"...without the presence of "younger" ones..

but, will it be better then the departing "incumbent" ?

sports politics...power-rule-pride...or otherwise..Soh Rui Yong's future depends a lot on the outcome of this 2020 SA Elections...another battle vs the new SA challenge in 2021...because 2021 Southeast Asian Games (31st SEA Games), is scheduled to take place in Hanoi, Vietnam from 21 November to 02 December 2021...

Not really.. Referencing 2019's SEA Games, SA actually nominated Soh for Marathon. SNOC was the one who rejected the nomination. With regards to appeal, SA was deliberating whether to appeal before Soh said he didn't want to appeal (see source below). So for 2021, the SA team actually means very little, even the current SA team, with people that Soh dislikes so much (like Malik), did nominate him for 2019 SEA Games. Unless you mean either of the 2 teams would go one step further and not nominate Soh
