If anyone wants to help to remind other runners to keep the course clean, Printatease are offering 50 prints. You will need to bring the t-shirt you will be running in and will be done on a first come first serve basis. The print is black and white. Thank you to those who come to see Green Nudge at the REPC

Greeting dear @Pearlina, we meet again in 2019.

1. Due to Road Closures in the vicinity of the SCSM routes, many buses have suspended their services.  https://landtransportguru.net/event/bus-service-diversion-scsm-2019-marathon-half-marathon/

2. There are NightRider/Nite Owl services https://landtransportguru.net/bus/bus-services/guide-to-nightrider-nite-owl-services/ if your home happens to be around the vicinity according to the Guide.

3. However, to get home safely, you need to buy sharetransport ticket if your home is not in the Guide (2).

4. Medal engraving service queue even if at after midnight, no train or bus service and especially train - most have now since after 11pm will be not available due to repair and services.

5. The next day is Sunday. MRT service will operate later than normal day.

Make sure you don't land up having to sleep at F1 Pit 😐, and uncle would be terribly worried.

Bay Area, ECP and Hub is uncle's territory. Uncle simply runs back home after the race.

side cutting super big...and I’m already wearing 1 size down from my usual size

Personally I like this design, it will reduce the chance to rub skin... I always rub the skin on my scapula area.... painful.....

Uncle very fit! After FM can still run home!

For me if I survive the FM, will queue for the medal engraving. At most take Grab or taxi.

I’m sorry. What is this medal engraving that I keep reading about? Engrave what? Is it free?

Just for all to know, Photo by FinisherPix and Medal Engraving which some have subscribed are all PAID during registration.

This info was provided by my sponsor for the Free Bib due to reasons which I have stated.

"Free? I've paid everything. I can cancel via email. Of course, since I have paid, there will be no refund of Photo and Medal Engraving." said my sponsor :(

My sponsor has opted to cancel Medal Engraving, and have decided Uncle would have a Free Photo finishing 🙂

Yes, engraving of name and finisher time at back of medal. I didn't opt for this service during registration as I wasn't confident of completing the FM. So if I really completes the FM, I will definitely go for this service on site. Slightly more ex though ($ 20)

Shocked that Sundown got a booth...

From their Facebook page no information has been confirmed yet... no dates or start venue whatsover... Like that still dare to collect money from runners first...

Price still at $65 for FM... should have lowered prices for all the disastrous issues this year.....

Scrolled through my facebook feed and Sundown posted an ad about 2020 race plus their booth at SCSM race expo, many people left negative comments on the ad and they got badly bashed lolx.. 🤣

So if you come to the Green Nudge booth (we are in the corner of the second blue Zone of the photo area next to Share Transport and I am not there... please do sign the banner &/or create an action you can take to help conserve our resources and reduce carbon emissions (I am Cycling from Clementi back and forth) &/or create a suggestion for the organisers as to how to reduce waste. The waste generated at last years for the event generates 2 large double decker buses!!

@Pearlina there should be quite a few people sleeping at F1 pit hahaha 😂

Yes, uncle will be busy collecting your Bins after Race for the zZZ use (must learn how to reduce and recycle).

Don't worry, different fragrance will be customised for different user. Already at Geylang Famous Durian Lanes, Mega Bins have been sponsored for those who needs stronger deodorant.

** Recommend you take a shower before you Bin to Sleep! We provide Rent-Shower

Please don't forget to turn off after use.

Thank you.

I can understand why you get "green" light given by your specialist to run.

"A good rule of thumb is that if your symptoms are from the shoulders up, such as congestion or cough, you are usually OK to run. Anything from the shoulders down, including muscle aches or a chest cold, means you should take time off to rest."

Dear @Pearlina, I may not know you well but only from this forum we chat and have fun. Have you been overseas and have acquired chronic sinus condition when staying/living here in a humid weather. Allergic to tropical environment like vegetation of plants/shrubs/flowers could trigger or aggravate the condition.

Don't let sinus interrupt your focus & affect your performance. However, if this affects your motion such that you feel giddy and "always feeling super 'exhausted', then you have to rest.

Sharing from uncle's experience. I had chronic sinus condition because uncle used to dive and due to improper "decompression" of air when surfacing after dive (because we use breathing tanks with mixture of oxygen and nitrogen) and so there is always a lacking of oxygen exchange. Therefore I was diagnosed as elements of impure gaseous stuck in the tiny air sac closer to my nostrils. That will be my chronic sinus condition. Pain in the afternoon. Actually pressure caused by the air sacs which "balloon" during the day time.

I was made to inhale "medicated" boiled water (steam) and after months of treatment, seen some green gluey stuff come out from my nose. It seems that these are the toxic that have been causing my chronic sinus condition.

You see, these green gluey stuff is "living" organism, not something that is stuck in your respiratory system.

Yes, now knowing why you must run slowly to complete this marathon. Unfortunately, this one ends after midnight. And given 6pm + 7.5 hours, almost 2 pm + medal engraving.

Thank you for sharing.

Have a good run. Don't forget, we meet and share a year after SCSM 2018. It is good to be back.

Remembered last year SCSM 2018, someone saw a "ghostly vehicle" entering into the 25km mark, it was really scary. Up to now, uncle worries that this "ghostly vehicle" will show up at midnight without warning lights...wha...that will be 💀

@Ladyice - Yes, i may consider to nua at F1 pit 1st. Dunno if i can still walk to the grab pickup pt aft e run (esp with all e rd closure)

@Kohpapa - So u have 'recovered' from ur chronic sinus issue? Doc told me to remove e polyp since it did nt subside aft 2 bouts of antibiotics. It is affecting my sense of smell, and of coz, my running performance. Feeling breatheless easily with ard 150-160 bpm. Beri jialut. However, will nt push myself too much till up-lorry. Hope that slow n steady wins e race.

Btw, mind sharing what medicated water did u use? I did e saline nasal irrigation which is of no use.

Don't waste your money 'cos the engraving can hardly be seen. For your info.

    • Better check.... That brownish stained color plus description is most likely metal strip rust. Probably design fault didn't expect user to soak overnight and then starts to rust. Of course, if you need to use it urgently for "washroom with no toilet paper" (a premium item now during covid-19)... then use it with no other choice, staining it with the real stuff...discard better...no need to rewash...for it has served the purpose...what a relief! Really when nature calls, you may never know your when you "ultra (layered) mask" may come by useful...btw, please bring a backup mask, just in case, for you still need to Wear Mask Always after using the washroom.... next time toilet-train during Exercise (Run)....endure and stoppage all nature calls..like beyond 1km...3km...5km... then next time you can endure this route for 16km for just 1 "ultra mask"...for Exercise (Run Ultra!)..😷
    • Actually, Events (SCSM or F1) are for the Economy, attracting both locals and overseas visitors to stopover and spend in travelings (Airlines/Airports), lodgings (Hotels) and immersing in the experience of Sports (Participation) and of course, savouring F&B during the Event stay...visit attractions (Tourism). Virtual Meeting/Travel via "Zoom" ...Virtual Run via "Zoom" or "Youtubing" casting... Uncle's VR definition - Virtual Reality - a simulated experience that can be similar to or completely different from the real world..immersive in experience... we may be moving into this direction after Covid-19...even when there is a vaccine for all...expect changes in the coming months Home-based VR learning start with the kids...
    • everyone has their own agenda on fitness... some have moderate...some have higher... some will race...others simply DIY...some want medals (extrinsic)...some simply go Green (intrinsic)... no comments on what is fitness...cycling and running and swimming... exercise is essentially to burn fat...so which one will burn fat better...uncle chooses running over cycling over swimming...so what's yours? all the best bro...continue to do what is happy for yourself...just define on your own Stay Safe Stay Healthy Safe Happy in 2020...because there is simply no real Race (Run) which has a higher risk...vs..Virtual Run (Home-based)...very safe.. counting down to Sunday...in hours...and MIA...😷
    • Uncle, I won't participate SCSM 2020 if it becomes a virtual run. The fees may be cheaper but I believe most of us would want to cross the finisher line in the SG Marathon. So the VR is really no point...
    • CB or no CB, I think it is good to maintain fitness so that we can enjoy sports or outdoors. No need to over stress to reach higher targets, just do at own pace to enjoy the process of doing them.
