cut-off is too strict at 5h 30min (elite eksyen atas runners dun comment OK?).
Even SC HK used to be 5h 30min but now is at 6 hours.

Noob is slow like tortoise and always crawling to finish line.

probably more and more people are joining the race so they wanna keep the timing short.....

highly possible, no point having too many walkers, its either they shorten the cut off or increase the fees

Really? Isn't this Stand Chart Taipei the 1st edition for 2014?

One S.O.P I still follow is try not to join a race on it's first edition especially marathons since some organisers still need to iron out the problems and it only get better the 2nd and 3rd and maybe beyond that they get complacent again *cough*cough* SCMS*cough*cough*

that is true for 1st edition of marathons but it is ok if one is not gonig for PB but just getting some experience or strategies ironed out on hydration, nuitrition, etc....

They are only accepting 4,000 FM runners. Looks like a relatively smaller event vs. SCMS. Perhaps to make their 1st event more manageable.

FM cost is NT$1,000 (about S$40-45).

Like that I won't be able to know what are the places I should visit... :P

Few years back, me and a buddy just booked a free & easy 4D 3N Taipei with a travel agent in Chinatown. We picked SQ & a hotel near an MRT station exit.

We makan, shop and took a 1D guided tour of Taipei that came with the F&E package. We were taking part in the Fubon Taipei Marathon then.

Then it was my 1st visit to Taipei and my buddy had not been to Taiwan since army days more than 10 yrs back.

I think you can just go Taipei 101 and nigh markets. Other than that, just Google.
