Q: WHAT!?!?
A:
The most colorful 5k in Asia!

The Festival of Colors Run is one part HOLI, one part RUNNING and a whole lot of FUN!

Q: HOW?
A: You will start off white as a ghost and as you run we will reward you for each kilometer you complete with a blast of color. By the time you reach the finish line you will look like you had a fight with a rainbow and lost.

Q: WHERE?
A: We would love to color all of Asia right now but like Lao Tzu says, "A journey of a thousands miles begins with a single step." We are starting our journey in Singapore and will be spreading to other cities from there.

Q: WHO
A: This run if for anybody and everybody.

Sorry, NO pets allowed. Perhaps Rex, Roxy and their buddies can join us in the future, but for now, the pleasure of running in this event is only for humans.

Q: Why?
A: WHY NOT!?!? It'll be so much fun!

Comments:

I read from the paper today about a Colour Run - a 5K non-competitive run where colours are thrown at you at designated checkpoints by volunteers.

Nothing has been finalised yet but the registration fee apparently cost US$40 in the states.

Honestly maybe I'm a stick in the mud but I really dun understand the pt of this run; nor do I find having coloured powder thrown at me fun. :rolleyes2:

And to pay that much for a 5K non-charity run? Are they mad?? :startle:

So is anyone really interested in this run - seriously??

Sentosa? Oh no, I am guessing $60 to $70 for this 5km run. :turned:

I see only 2 colors; 1 red ($10) +1 blue ($50) = $60

hahaha

Sentosa seems be the place now for all those jaded, seasoned runners bored with the usual road race and with deep pocket. First you have that 'Race the Dead'. And now this. Let's see who win the title 'The Most Expensive 5K Race in Singapore'. RTD was $65.90. I think Colour Run wont be too far off (they did say US$40). :money:

OMG all slots for both days sold out within 3 hours.

:startle: Goes to show that Singapore indeed has a lot of carrot heads waiting for event organiser to be chopped! :money:

The biggest concerns I have is the knock-on effect on the registration fee for other races. Imagine we were commenting that the Race the Dead, ST Run in the Park and Colour Run are pretty expensive but they are sold out relatively quickly. So this tell the race organiser that they can comfortably raise fee and 'they will come'. :shok:

$50 for a 5km run that has no prizes and timing is pretty expensive, unless one is taking part not as a run but more of a 5km colorful carnival. And to think that all slots were snapped up within 3 hours of commencement of registration :phew:

Anyway, this is one run which i think that no one will be in any hurry to complete. After paying so much and just chiong all 5km within 25 mins is a really bad ROI!!! LOL

Saw on their facebook page comments that some participants had successfully asked for a full refund.

If it comes to that... at least they are willing to give you a full refund.
