Running clubs for kids/teenagers

new year resolution to run with niece and nephew, are there running clubs where there's a good mix of teenagers and adults for regular runs? thx

yo, joegoh, uncle's favourite kids athletics program supporter..yes..uncle supports also, let uncle explains more..

kids of ages 6-10..encourage them to run, jump and throw..because good for physical development overall..and so let them just have fun..and already uncle never encourage "run 6km" with adults for fun..for them, they don't know what is "km"..and so what is "6km"..and they don't know what is hydration point then drink..for them..you try them out at stadium track..first 400m..fast fast..2nd 400m..start to pant and stop completely before reaching 600m..and of course, adults, would say, "come on, you can do it."..to kids of their age..they don't know what is "you can do it"..and as such, if you look at recent kids competitive runs.. SCMS kids run is 750m..and did uncle say something about "fun run at 6km" with kids?

so, if you see kids at play..run, jump, and if given a ball, throw..there is several good development.. run..fast, long..jump..high, long..throw..far, long, low, high.. so how about, run, jump, throw..and everyone wins..including adults..and that where joegoh comes in..a series of programs..

good that Pog has brought out a good topic.. great for papa and mama sgRunners..some whom uncle has suggested..when run, please bring water bottle..and uncle would like also..to do this fun exercise before run

"clench your fist.. and ask kids to clench their fists..compare your hearts..vs. the kids hearts"..so ask yourself if you can run 6km..can the kids hearts run 6km?..imagine the amount of blood and pumping..and sweating with high heart rate..how many times more for kids..and so understand why SCMS 2012 Kid's Run is 750m only..and also this coming Venus Run..kid's run..is 800m..did any race organiser mention of kids running at 6km?..oops, safari zoo family run got one..so remember..go slow slow with kids for that one and bring water bottles, and not wait for hydration points then drink, ok?..for the kids respect you, watch tv, running must be fast and win medals..for you, adults..to please you..that's all.. :turned:

You got my respect kohpapa, I'm amazed with your knowledge in "run, jump, throw"! You are working in the physical training field?

yap..ericx..uncle is a youth athletics coach..certified by IAAF, international coaching license..but that can includes teenager or young adult racewalking, cross-country and marathon running..and thanks for that quick "respect", for uncle earns that, coach uncle also can..uncle specialises in middle and ultra distance running..and field events in long and triple jumps, with special interest in pole vaulting..with secondary sub-knowledge of all throws..including hammer..which uncle now trained to improve upper body power and strength..and latest is uncle's core..peacock stand meridian core or sometimes they call navy seal training.. like this, shoik right, no special effect like jacky chan's movie on parachuting down, but actually bluff one http://2.bp.blogspot...0/navy seal.jpg
