Garmin Forerunner 610

Recommended Posts

Has anyone already using Forerunner 610? Worth buying?

I read abt the virtual partner, virtual racer...wondering if such features really practical and useful for our training? I seriously thinking to buy this model, so I appreciate some tips/comments from experts or those who are using this watch now..thanks!

Been using it for 5 runs or so now.

Garmin Connect is fantastic, except for the BMI and such, which one must get a Tanita to log em in.

Anyway http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2011/04/garmin-forerunner-610-in-depth-review.html FULL IN DEPTH REVIEW!!!

Tried around my block, even though with high rises around, GPS works fine. Even a normal racing track, it can detect perfectly which lane you're in.

Don't bother Novena, you can get +HRM bundle at SLS for better price, bt of cz, be wary of carrots.

the problem with 610 is the 'metal' piece in contact with your skin ( at the back of the watch)

many report of it getting 'eroded' because of the constant contact with sweat... it can get ugly... but the watch still works very well!!

The back case will corrode, buttons as well. I normally will wipe off with wet towel after a run to minimise the corrosion. The rubber strap where the holes also gave way at the pin. All this after 2 years of wearing it. Replaced the strap for $29 at the service center.
