Fantastic organization this morning with water points for the 10km route. Free singlet, race belt, key chain, towel and most importantly getting some free coaching and insights into how to improve our runs :)

Singlet was before. Towel and key chain were after. Race belt was after too but you had to connect thru your Facebook account there and then to 'check in' before getting the belt. This was my experience at Mobile Run 1, I believe the next 7 is the same :)

What you mean 'connect thru your Facebook account there and then to 'check in' before getting the belt?

I meant after the run, we had to queue up to collect our momentos such as key chain and towel. Only when you showed them that you had logged in to your Facebook account and checked in your status, then they gave the race belt. That was last week. Not sure if we will be given another singlet and everything else again. Will be nice if so :D

How was the pace like?

Team BMW runs serve both for runners as well as for pacers. Depending on your preferred pace, you run with the pacer groups undergoing their pacer training at the same time. This morning, distance per loop was 6km. I chose to run with the 4hour15min pacer group doing a 6min/km pace. Distance is up to you and you can fall out at any point in time. Hope this explains :)

I wanted to sign up for Mobile Run (MR) 2 within 24 hours of the email notice, but all 150 slots were taken up.

So, one earns 10 points for attend MR2. Question is, did all 150 people who registered turn up? If some don't, perhaps they should have 10 points deducted? B'cos they deprived others from signing up and joining in the run.

for those who like uncle cannot "see" what Team BMW's gifts for joining them.. http://www.mycarforu...ntry&id=62234 a cap, wrist band, race belt and the best of all, a dri-fit T shirt ..to train for pacers.. means "volunteers"..unlike last year..volunteer pacers were not given sufficient time to train and get to know each other better..and that was the feedback..and this year in 2012.. at least uncle sees the effort to train "volunteers" from all walks of life..better training program..must give kudos for such efforts..

so what's the difference between Team BMW and Team Sundown (aka Team FatBird) in both marathons?.. the Team BMW organises a training plan for volunteers..while Team Sundown is a running club make up of passionate runners..who not only organise runs for the public, but also for their members..and every runner who is present seems to know whom they would meet..familiar faces or somebody of similar passion (running fraternity)..of course, Team Sundown pacers are nominated within their group..for Sundown marathon run

uncle wishes well..Team BMW runners who volunteered to pace..and the demanding training that they have to put up with..respect...hope all of you end up with the "prizes" or gifts of.. http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?act=attach&type=blogentry&id=62236 .. as your motivation..

The BMW TEAM mobile is for normal runners to run/learn from the pacers.

Just wondering is the participants given a free shirt for every run or only for the first time?

    • Ah yes, Terry Fox!  He was quite famous after the first running boom (sometime in the 70s to early 80s) I even saw a TV movie about him when I was in grade school (OMG, My age is showing 😵 LOL) And to think he was an amputee!
    • I’m usually self supported when I do my solo LSDs, so I can manage up to a marathon’s distance (ultras will need at least some form of support however, at least for me) . I can’t replenish at any public faucet like you guys do over there, but there are stores everywhere.  I can also lug at least 2L in my hydration vest if I’m in the mood to shout:  “THIS... IS… SPARTAAAAA!” 😜 😜 😜 but I haven’t been that motivated lately. At least not since this pandemic broke out.  Nothing beats the convenience of having a route clear of cars, and hydration at least every 5km (IAAF rules) in an actual organized race though, but these just won’t be possible for the time being so we’ll just have to be patient. I look forward to the day when they find a vaccine to this plague… and we’ll all be partying, cheering and giving high fives after crossing the finish line once more. 😊
    • Incredible feat! The other person I know of running a marathon every day for a cause was Terry Fox.
    • I’m sharing this interesting story of a Korean monk doing a 5,200 km charity ultra run from LA to New York City, running 50km each day. He was forced to halt it in the meantime because of the pandemic: https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/culture/2020/06/141_290579.html    What struck me most was that where he expected prejudice, he found only kindness, and that the ones who had the least to give... actually gave the most: “I received heartwarming care from those in poverty” I guess it’s really true that what you sow, so shall you reap. I'd like to read more about this guy and his story when he continues his run. 👍
    • Thank you for sharing the hints, totally agreed. So I need to make a good plan on the routing. 😊👍   Yea, in a race of last year, the experience of a lot of runners has proved that... 💪🤣
