I think they want to announce the YPR 2012:

Yellow Ribbon Prison Run - “Beyond the Run”

(Launch Event for the YRP Week 2012)

Date: Sunday, 16 September 12

Time: 7.45am

Category: 6km Fun Run and 10km Competitive Run

Start Point: SAF Field, Changi Village, Farnborough Road

End Point: Changi Prison Complex

Featuring a unique run route, the signature event of the Yellow Ribbon Project, the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2012 sets a pace unlike any other run in Singapore. It will take you past several historical sites in the Changi area including Johore Battery, Changi Chapel Museum and Old Changi Prison Wall. As you approach the finish line, you will enter the conserved old Changi Prison Gatehouse which brings you inside the new Changi Prison Complex.

Themed “Beyond the Run”, the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run is all about giving ex-offenders a second chance to start afresh. By your participation, you are lending your voice collectively to a message of hope for all ex-offenders “to pick themselves up and to get back on track”.

Registration will open in the month of April.

i'm more concerned with the after-run-showering-facilities. Its ultra hot there and we need the shower if possible. if not, its fine. we bring our own towels.

in addition, the transport after, where does it head to? last yr there was a significant problem on the buses-after-event thats suppose to go to the changi village but the bus operators are not aware of it. something like that..

thats all.

Totally agree...the late start time resulted in us bearing the hot sun as we reach the finishing line.

One more thing to relook into....the bus route from Expo station to Changi V...2011 was terrible...2010 was good cos the drop point is near the baggage area too. Can relook into this bit? Tks.

uncle likes to listen.. to shsh sound.. toilet at prison..uncle being there Cluster A..

always.. urine smell always strong..every hour urine test for inmates..for drug abuse..as reminder that you lose freedom once you are inmates..all rights of fun and freedom..all gone.. uncle was there..a**ist. coach on how to do all things digital including e-book on their projects, drawn with e-pen on tablets..must admire them..#1 effort..and sale/marketing presentation..excellent..you see, inmates there are smart.. too smart until they take short cut to life..drugs, greed, temper..the soul kena corrupted by peers or friends (wrong type, not like sgRunner goody goody ones like sis chaokeng-queen..ya, no tattoo on butt, confirmed..and bro takaishi..nee how, ogenki desu ka?)

sundown 2011 showers..the best so far.. but, why not uncle introduces you to nearby changi prison, there is a chapel..you know for WWII one..the toilet there very clean..when you sit to do business, the sai stick wipe a**, and when finish, sprinkler "piss" at a**, and if you want to blow dry, just press red button..hope it works this time..heard that one if too hot..can burn a**.. or uncle suddenly remember...need to press green button for refresher to "aerosol" a** smell great..still want to complain about Yellow Ribbon Prison Run got no good toilet facilities.. right here at sgRunners secret forum thread here..

yo, uncle send regards to past participants..and welcome newbies..rest assured..we're safe and sane..just want to have fun when race event is not so urgent..bye bye

yo.. september run, sneak to this forum.. lover's forum..

ok, uncle talk serious..no joke, share the objective of this run event.. it is about giving the inmates a second chance of life..while they have learned and spent time due to their mistakes..the society must learn to forgive and accept them..while employers look for talent and resourceful employees.. yellow project helps to place out these inmates..about to be free..to be accepted..as long as they are able to do the jobs..don't have the stigma of the previous conviction of past sins.. very difficult to accept..but this is the event theme and movement of support.. even though the organiser do not stipulate they all must wear the official yellow tee and the yrllow ribbon, not like Nike Goddess 5k type, no race if you don't.. just do it with the heart..the choice will be yours on the day of the event..

uncle has no problem speaking in this forum..in 2011..uncle has shared because uncle was a coach on introducing to the inmates on the vocation opportunity in the field of digital art, drafting and design, production of a commercial viable product using the tools of digital to communicate, e-brochure and the art of sales/marketing presentation..and that was arranged 120-hours with class contact hours of 3 alternate days lesson, and for the inmates 3 alternate days practical.. uncle conduct lessons, the Prison Service group ensures inmates practice the next day.. was there for 6-week..

of course, screening, uncle must be cleaned..and of course credentials.. no need to say, sure got, how can bluff prison administrators.. next to be assigned 6-week security clearance to enter inmates compound.. that's the one you Yellow Project Prison Run will never enter..if you have no official business.. so uncle really got VIP pass to enter..

security.."uncle, you here for.. ok..locker key for you to put everything..wallet, hp, and no paper of any kind..but you can have cash card for canteen use"..ok, lock.. enter..."uncle, security scan here " top to bottom.. if they insist you take off shoe, you must, scared you have paper.."security, why no paper?".."uncle, you shall not communicate to inmate, and if inmate asks you to do something, no paper, and if kena caught, uncle, you can go prison..understand?".. so uncle coach with no paper.. learning materials were sent..screened..and..received by inmates.. uncle use brain memory..and nothing paper written in..nothing paper out..period..

hungry, visit canteen with cash card.. first interface with inmates..the ok behaviour ones who can serve well in canteen..all you just choose.. this one that one.. cash card please..thank u..cashless.. now uncle understands..inmates handle cashless transaction and no money mokey business with visitors and inmates..

while passing blocks.. some are admin.. one smell of bakery..bread..cannot reveal company..starts with G.. and one biggest building smell of washing powder..laundry..secret..the largest in Singapore..so go eat..table clothes.. go plane..head rest..go hotel..pillow and bedding..commercial dry cleaning..etc..the inmates provide the biggest service..heard this service is extended to global..sh..don't tell more..little birds say SEA largest laundry service..

forgot to mention..fences are so tall..uncle must crane neck to see the top.. of course towers of security with guards in semi-machine guns.. uncle got once another opportunities to coach the Prison Service elites anti-mob call the SPEARs..SP stands for Singapore Prisons..and these are like your anti-terrorists equivalent trained specialists.. this one another side story..they guard the prison against potential risk of inmates outbreak..

"uncle, here..please login on computer screen".. name..ic number.. wait for barrier gate to open.."uncle go to third floor with lift after the barrier door"... life reaches to more barrier gate.. digital audio "uncle, wait for barrier to open".."turn left please".. so while uncle goes to the training room.. already inmates all squatted in two rows..with prison officers (sergeant ranked) standing and greeted uncle.. time to enter room..

"sorry uncle, inmates go to do area cleaning..before class, don't mind".. sure.. clean toilet..wipe tables..computer screens.."ok, inmates sit down.."

inmate standard wear is shorts and tees.. if uncle is female..inmates shall wear longs and tees.. and one time prison officer asked uncle..scared of inmates.."you can use whistle to pee pee if you think inmates out of control".. wha, can..trust inmates or not..but uncle so sexy.. and army officer type..no need lah.. the most uncle display ninja-turtle stunt..but uncle was reminded one inmate got sex-related, prone to male..what? ok.. uncle requested all inmates wear long pants.. skali the one rub ding dong bells in front of uncle..uncle don't know what to say..and whistle for pee pee, just in case..reminded not to have any relationship for being too close or friendliness by prison officers..smileys on their faces..better don't play play..be professional and serious.

participating inmates..all about to process out to the society within 1 year..young early 20s to older ones 60s.. must be bright and able to handle very demanding class.. if progress no good..especially older ones.. can not cope..too difficult.. immediate replacement on the next day..and once lesson over..next day must practice and finish assignment as specified..according to uncle's training plans..

impression...most are very good..one-time instruction with practice full-day the following day.. churn out with commercial-level projects..wha, who are these inmates?..don't play play.. some of the brightest in the society..corporate level..some are top in their class if ex-students.. but why are they there.. too much stress during corporate days..fall to drugs (illegal stimulants), bad peers influence and challenge, greed, just for kick - do something foolish, or commit dangerous acts..

"inmate 12345 and 67890, urine bottles..go toilet", given by male nurse..next hour later "inmate 24680, urine bottle"..interrupted..why like that.. "o, uncle, just to make sure..and to remind them..constantly..not to".. wah, toilet beside room.. smell strong strong..

ok, presentation time..showcase your stuff..wah, fluent english, and like understand business world outside..btw, no internet, how can, remember cannot pass message to outside world..but projects submitted..illustrated designed and demonstration of product functions, how to package or "box" product folding instruction to contractors, and marketing brochures.. all in e-book.. complete in adobe acrobat format.. and given 15-min presentation..wah, all score excellence..as though they did "search" online for information for better ideas and inspiration..

respect.. inmates..uncle's best students.. "of course, the best..because if they break law..stay another 7, 10 years for repeated offenses..commonly drug abuse law is very strict, no second chance" prison officer ended..

so, when you run in this yellow ribbon prison project.. there is always this interface group..the aftercare group of non-prison administrators who looked onto the future welfare of the inmates after they are released, and this is your organiser.. humanly caring type.. and as such.. past events, always got positive feedbacks.. some even remembered the year when during rainfall..yellow raincoats for all..quite unexpected..caring..

so, don't go with the run and distance.. uncle break PB sub 30 or distance not accurate, why like that.. this one is to support the movement..for the cause.. neither is this a charity nor profit.. non-sgRunners present will be runners from Companies or families that support this movement because their colleagues, friends, and maybe family members may be one - past and present or about to be free again..remembering that crime does not pay, and the inmates have paid their dues for "correction with no freedom", and ask for a little kindness for forgiveness from the society to accept them and to be given 2nd chance in life..as friends, colleagues, and of course for the inmates' parents..prodigal sons and daughters.. finally returned or returning..

and while we are free to say anything silly under the sun..or engage in giving comments freely in this forum.. these inmates cannot.. unless on the rooftop have recreation.. and what's being upgraded in status of inmate to lead or leader inmate - entitlement to colgate..that's why uncle doesn't understand lead inmate jokes always kena.."tonight no colgate" laugh laugh.. btw, got any ex-inmate sgRunner here..<run ah, sgRunners moderators going to ban uncle again..>

Totally agree on running for a causes rather than whether there is enough toilet, can bathe, can shit, got better prize, longer or shorter distance, give umbrella becos too hot etc. While the run stays true to itself, I think we are not so sure about participants.

Personally I can used to do 10K but I think my son and wife is ready to walk the 6km distance (with light run interval) hence decided to do a family outing to support ex-imates in totally changing for the better, get 2nd or 3rd chance, be motivated by the support we show. It is one of the few runs (I won't call race) that truly have a cause to run for.

My friends and I are so looking forward to this run. More than Singapore Marathon, Aviva etc.

I attempted suicide years ago and kena 1day.

Oiii, Kohpapa how you know what the ladies wear? You peep through the fence crack is it?? Female attire: white (sentenced) green (remand) tee- shirt with Velcro at top. Long pants with rubber for the waist and slippers (transparent) stiff and hard (rather walk barefoot). As for the cell, I never go in because I was asked to wait in the office for administrative work (2hours) and I go home Liao.. It's a nightmare! Better don't attempt suicide and go in.. That's why when I see the mock cell I was telling my friends that the mock cell is way too much better than a real cell.. But anyway, being remanded in the police cell underneath the police HQ is the worst. They feed you tasteless craps! Remanded in prison is better than being remanded in the police cell. At least prison let me hold my asthma inhaler in the hand and being handcuffed in front unlike police cell, inhaler confiscated and asthma attack need wait until turn blue in the lips before they give me inhaler and call the ambulance after I went into cardiac arrest. Zzzz..

I don't know that attempting suicide in Singapore must go jail. Zzz..

I started running marathons as a therapy for my depression.. I am not into running but I need the achievement certificates to show myself I am not a failure and not a loser..
