Nike SG says it will be out in OCT. Can't wait for it to come out.

I am reluctant to order from overseas first cos the sportsband had so many QA issues..not sure if this would turn out to be the same case.

Think its because it uses too much Flash apps, so will run slower on older pc chips. Wait till you try Sports Tracker, then you'll know what is slow! :shiftyninja:

Need some feedback from local users of this gps watch. Some overseas reviews have not been good lately.

Have been using the watch for 2 months. I also have the 1st gen watch and i have to say it's problematic. There is a serious usb detection issue. It doesn't detect the usb every now and then making it impossible to upload my run!! very frustrating!! I really hope when it launch in sg the issue can be fixed by then. The GPS positioning takes ~ 3-5mins for hooking up and it's not very accurate IMO. 50% of the time it got my starting point wrong. Thereafter, it tries to adjust to the correct route i am taking, making the distance marker slightly off...

cons aside. It definitely has significant improvement over the previous model.. (sigh.. so much more ex too)... the new back lighting is nice (i had to smack the front of the watch or shake it in order to activate it) and you can see 2 different status in the watch (that's what most runners wud want to see)

too bad i got it from US if not i wud have gotten it replaced due to the USB issue.

and to add... if for the nike plus to upload runs, i wud have already gotten another brand of running watch :(

I spent more time troubleshooting the watch than running. Got the watch from New York 2 months ago. You should goto Nike forum, lots of beautiful comments. fyi, nike+ still experiencing log in issues till date.

Just got a replacement watch last week. So far so good after 2 runs. fingers crossed. What else you want to know about the watch. I am expert now :P

Could the uploading issue be caused by the Nike+ issue?

One of the reason why I refused to get it from the US is due to the replacement issue. My Nike sportsband was changed numerous time so I know I got to have local support.

Also, one of the main reason I dont want to change to Garmin or Polar is due to the runs I have logged with Nike+ which is already more than 1300+ km!

Sigh. i tried few machines and i am still using the first gen watch so that rules out the possibility...

I just wanna share my experience using the Nike+ Sportwatch.

I've used it for 5 months, ran over 50 runs and more than 800km with it. Was very happy with it and also encouraged my friends to get one, until one day, it decides to stop synching!! All of a sudden, the watch could not sync with my notebook anymore. But weird enough, the charging indicator is on and the watch can be charged. I've tried plugging it into different PCs, notebooks, Macs, resetting the watch, uninstall and reinstall the software, etc. But the result was still the same; can charge, cannot sync.

When i tried searching for a solution for this problem on line, i saw that there are thousands of Nike+ Sportwatch users with the same problem for a long time, yet no real solutions at all from Nike. What Nike did was to replace most of these watches, but could not guarantee if the problem comes back again. There are many users who also faced this problem again a few months later (some even days) after getting their replacements. It seems that the problem is terminal! You can have a look at the 41 pages of complaints (and growing) from this link: http://forums.nike.com/thread.jspa?threadID=37255&tstart=0&start=600

That's when i decide to switch over to a Garmin FR410 which is tried and tested. I sent my unit back to my friend in US to claim my warranty, and sold the replacement unit on eBay. The Nike+ Sportwatch is definitely an interesting GPS running watch, and the Nike+ website is quite fun. But until they are able to address these reliability issues, i'd stay away for the time being.
