turn off watch or turn off gps? like the comments i read the batt life only last 8 hours when use.. so cannot be everyday i go and charge it so it won't die off... i want to just "turn it off" and keep it.. so how does it turn off? is it like computer you turn off the watch as in the entire watch is off, no activity at all... or u can turn off those batt sucking function like GPS, so that it still on but displaying time like a normal watch?

305 can serve the purpose of totally turning off the watch. There's the power button, top left at the side.

To tell time without the gps will be models 405 or 310, 110.

i see... kum xia bro... hmm.. 305 is really very tempting... although i prefer 110 though.. but the price hor... haiz.. think just buy 305 will do..

yea can..but switching to indoor mode does not enhance the battery life a lot. I think the battery life still less than a day. Hehe so off it when not using is better.

np..Well, the 305 has many useful feature the 110 don't possess. The gps use I think also the same, somemore come with the hrm. It is in no way inferior to the 110 lor. The Hrm alone already cost us$50 thereabouts, which makes the watch itself us$99 effectively. The only advantage of the 110 has, it is new.

lwm bro, I realise I lost my O-ring for the hrm battery cover, possible to get a replacement? I guess this explains the erratic values reported during exercise.

Aiyo, I don't sell Garmin why you ask me? Better check with local agents Navicom or Allbright.

bros.. i just received my 305. Any tips on what i should be doing the moment i open the box?

eh..i think charge the watch abt 2 hrs? Settings nothing much..not for the time I think has it goes by gps.. Maybe Settings> General> Units - Change distance and pace to Metric

Data fields also seem gd i think. GPS I think if outdoor will autodetect, or u can Settings> General> System

I am not very sure, as quite sometime last used it. Enjoy your playing with your new toy! :icecream:

After I received my 305 back (so-called replacement set) from the "official doctor", battery life enough for 1 LSD only.

finally managed to FR the watch...

first of all. my happiness rating is about 95%... it does what it promises.

however contrary to what many people say... the watch is thick and big.. u WILL feel it when u wear it.. it's like wearing a gold bracelet while running.. if only it is 99.9% gold. i don't feel comfortable wearing it at all.. as it keeps hitting my wrist bone. I am not used to wearing watches with the clock facing up.. so i will try wearing it with the face on my wrist.. i hope it can pick up signals.

    • Was looking forward to the actual run as I've never participated in this event before. Completed the 21km virtual run yesterday. Initially thought was only given 2 weeks to upload result which would be unfairly difficult given the short notice if one has not been running regularly. Fortunately, I've been running 21km every weekend since March. First time did 2x 21km within 4 days. Thankfully my Plantar Fasciitis is still holding up.
    • OhMyGod, 50 pushups, well done 👍   Saw Lexus Tan facebook, he own self say know qi gong, can apply.    I scare scare, should I call?
    • Slightly OT, but from the Straits Times article quoted by Lady Ice: A time of 2:46:57 is fast of course. Impossibly fast for a slow runner like me, but whenever I look at race results from marathons elsewhere in the world, and compare it to the times of our best runners of countries in Southeast Asia, even if one were to exclude the times of African runners from the equation, our runners here in SE Asia appear to be outclassed. I've always wondered why??? 🤔 Even in Japanese marathons, the Japanese winner's times are usually at 2:30++ on average. Are we at some disadvantage because we live in a hot climate, compared to those in temperate countries? When I mentioned to a runner from Victoria (AUS) that I usually run in temps of 27-33C, his jaw dropped...
    • SCSM T shirts are also usually sold at the pre-race expo, not just in SCSM but also other IAAF certified marathons in other parts of the world. The actual finisher shirt handed to you at the finish line is of course different though. I have nothing against those who want to buy a souvenir or presents for family and friends back home, but I strongly believe finisher shirts should be earned. Medals are usually just made of cheap metal or plastic, but to a runner, that "token" represents all the blood sweat and tears  you put into finishing the race. I don't remember where I read this, but there was this story about a guy whose wife completed her first marathon in Chicago. He told his friend: "I just bought her an expensive designer bag. That finisher certificate she got from completing the marathon probably cost the organizers a few cents to print. If she had to choose between the two of which to keep though, I know it would be that finisher's certificate & medal on our wall!" 🥴
    • I’m not a local, so I didn’t know the story about that pastry chef, but the link to the Straits Times article was an amusing read. It said he picked up running in 2011, and only runs 1 km at each time (!?!?!?) on weekends, yet he managed to cover  19kms in an actual race before giving up. I suspect though he probably walked most of that. If he could cover that distance running without training though, he must be either gifted, or very fit from another sport or life activity. Imagine what he would actually be capable of if he just took the time to train properly!
