SPD is a voluntary welfare organisation that supports people with disabilities by promoting their interest, welfare and advancement so as to develop their potential to the fullest. Through programmes and services that encompasses therapy, training, assistive technology, early intervention, day care, employment, educational and social support, we seek to enable people with disabilities (PWDs) to be self-reliant and independent.
In support of shaping an inclusive society, SPD will be organising our 2nd Ability Walk to provide an opportunity for both members of the public as well as PWDs to walk and interact with each other. There will also be a post-walk carnival with food, performances and activities aiming to allow participants and the community to know more about disability.
The 3km Walk is expected to attract a total of 2,000 participants and will be held at Chinese Garden on Sunday, 27 August 2017. Participants, who have signed up for the walk will receive an event t-shirt and a goodie bag.
