  1. This is true for me. Due to work, not been training that much past year. But I could still complete sundown marathon (although slower) with 20+ Km mileage per week. So the body remembers. I have also fine tuned my race and hydration strategies over the years that worked for me.
  2. Thanks bro SG Red Devil and bro lonewolf. I decided to travel light so wasn’t bothered by the lack of Baggage deposit. Was very self conscious on the way home though on the bus and mrt cos was still in my smelly attire. I must say it’s a very well organized community run.
  3. Anyone has any idea whether there will be baggage deposit, and is it compulsory to wear the event tee shirt?
  4. Both ways. Some people park right next to the bus boarding point. Then in return journey, can go straight to car after alighting from shuttle bus.
  5. Wasn't that crowded despite the narrow paths and multi-loops. Disappointed with the Singa medal though. Not even near ELM quality. I ran for the medal...
  6. Just curious, why did you guy speed up over the last 2-3 km? You were on pace before that. Or maybe you guys too fast and nobody following anyway haha
  7. I believe both runs were evening runs before SCSM announced officially that this year will be evening run. But your main point is good - we can use these runs to help acclimatize for SCSM.
  8. Inaccurate meaning the distance is too short or too long? think I saw you at tanjong rhu park connector yesterday evening. you seemed liked just finished your run or something.
  9. Disappointed to learn that the paid shuttle service pick up points are essentially the same as last year. No improvement. You guys just followed a template from last year or something?
  10. Usually there are a few runners in a pacing group. Not unusual to see pacers drop off the group for a variety of reasons eg not feeling well, ran into wall etc. So even if Yu have to drop off the pace, still have other pacers. Don’t think other runners will laugh at you lah. Anyway I’m sure the other members of the pace group will also remind each other to be consistent pace. Nowadays the pacing quite consistent. I recall I used to complain the pacers always start too fast.
  11. I had my massage around 4.30am? The entrance is just next to the place you collected your medal. Once you walked out to the public area, you would have walked past the small entrance. That’s why I said it’s obscure. I saw a mixture of ages. Mine was a young man. But from his strokes, I can tell he is a trained person. He can feel where there was a tough knot in my left calve and spent a lot of time and attention on it. So he wasn’t just going through motion. Maybe he had the luxury of time also cos really, the beds were like 20% filled. Also, maybe the champs league was screening so less runners looking for massage.
  12. Facing a similar dilemma. Deciding between CU and SG Ultra. I can’t do back to back ultras. So it’s either one or one short one long. For CU, won’t be doing 101k this year.
  13. Yes it is one of my pet peeves too. Sign up without knowing the route etc. I suppose it’s a chicken and egg thing. Organizers wanna start registration as will take long time for route to be approved (and maybe, just maybe if not enough people sign up then change route or cancel the route closure application). On their hand, some participants won’t sign up until details are known.
  14. It was quite windy and not as hot as I feared. For bananas, I was in earlier wave and manage to help myself to one each at each station. But I didn’t see that many lying around to be honest (like in cartons). Maybe the supply was limited. Did anyone see gels? I didn’t see any. Only some energy bars or something? And some tube-like thing. Didn’t take in case stomach upset cos never tried before this Mule(?) brand. Very generous with giving out the pocari and water at the finish. I took 2 pocari and 2 bottles of water. The volunteers were literally urging me to take more. If they have so much stock, maybe should have allocated more to the stations along the route. Lastly the massage place is really obscure even if it’s just next to the medal chute. I asked a security he pointed me to a place where it’s just the OSIM foot massage thing. Asked the OSIM volunteers wearing yellow tee there and they said don’t have lie down on table kind. In the end I found it myself cos I spied some table legs beneath the half shut shutters at F1 pit. It was literally just next to the foot massage place and the OSIM volunteers didn’t even know oh my god. The masseurs inside were very free! So many empty tables. I enjoyed a good long massage of my calves. First time massage service no business!
  15. hmmm venue is national stadium and Singa medal....price not too bad...worth considering...
  16. And also, it was mentioned that one of the criteria for marathon major is to have at least 15k FM finishers. Last year, there were 13.5k FM finishers. So they are hoping more runners will come out to support the FM the year. I’m wondering- then why raise price for FM by so much? From the Q&A, I also get the impression that there will be more of the city in the route this year, to get more crowd to come. Probsbly still can’t avoid ECP but maybe can minimize
  17. Oh I see. I haven’t 300. Will only reach this year. Haha.
