  1. Terence, we are a group of slower runners, we can't match your 5.15 pace !!! Anyway, 6.10pm is too early for most of us. I guess we will wait for the bosses to reply. Ronnie, I didn't mean it that way. I was merely saying that you can get to Istana Gate in about 20mins if the pace was about 5:15min/km. That's all. Me starting at 6.10pm is to Velocity. I usually get there (Velocity) by about 6.50pm.
  2. At 5:15min/km, you can get to Istana Gate in about 20 mins, waiting time at traffic lights included. Just run along Amoy St > Cross St > Up Cross St > Chin Swee > Havelock > Clemenceau and you are there. Alternatively, those early birds who want to do a longer run can run with me from CBD to Velocity and then back to the rendezvous point. CBD to Velocity is about 6.5km. I start my run from CBD to Velocity at about 6.10pm. One thing though, I run with my backpack. Tiwazz, Tigger, IMD ... so how??
  3. You guys and gals are most welcome to join the the runninglab Velocity run if you want to run next Tuesday. I should be there. For those of you who want a longer run, we could start running from T. Pagar (to Velocity) at about 6.10pm and then join the Velocity run. But hor, must do it with your backpack. Distance from T. Pagar to Velocity is about 6.5km. So, those 6min/km runners could make it there before 7pm. trencen... will u run past bugis? its abt 3km 2 novena... I think that would be a much longer detour. If I was a lot faster, I may run that route ... but I've got time constraint i.e. I "need" to be at Velocity by 6.50pm or so. Also, there are more traffic along Bugis area, so I usually avoid there. like very far leh, u sure is 6.5km only ??? I think so. That's what my polar says even though I have not calibrated it.
  4. Personally, the food there isn't great. You may want to consider Japanese at the Chow House along Robinson Rd. They have a buffet spread and they sometimes have a 1-for-1 deal. That said, it would not be as cheap. Think it would work out to be about $30 per head after the 1-for-1 deal ... but Friday is out for me. So, can't join you guys. As for the attire ... no event-T lah. Only the kids dash one has it. Would be cold if you were to just put on the event-top.

Cecil > Cross St > Upper Cross St > Havelock > Clemenceau > Cavenagh > Bt Timah > Newton Rd

  7. Weather good enough to run lah. Gonna go run to Velocity now.
  8. OK. OK. Weather now is fine. Going for lunch soon. Will update just before I leave for Velocity.
  9. CBD Runs appears to be getting very the serious.
  10. can't come again ! blame my boss !!! going up mountain ??? :Nail Biting: Tml going running lab to run :Big Grin: , need to slack... Go running lab means slack ah? I make sure you don't slack.
  11. Good to see you guys and thanks for looking after my bike (wheels are still Fennel's). Yes, my appearance was an unexpected one for me too as I had to get my mobile back which I inadvertently left in the office.
  12. Trencen... Steven did the Climbathon last year... he reached the Peak in good time... Nice Guy! :smilie_daumen1: Hope U r enjoying the stairsclimbing n hill runs... cya mf area soon... Yes, I am aware. He's attempting again as he has unfinished business to attend to. From what I've heard from him, it appears that he was more of a tourist when he did it last year i.e. taking pictures on the way up and down. We should hit mf area soon. I sometimes cycle up to mf both via Morse and Lower Delta. Bloody tough to get my old school bike up. I cycle with the KampongKaki group on Sundays. The Singapore Women Cycling Team has recently joined the group.
  13. Yup! It got rather wet, but I thoroughly enjoyed my run at Labrador Park together with a running buddy of mine who is preparing for the Climbathon. IMD might know him (Steven Wong) from the Ironman Langkawi 2007. At least I got my shoes cleaned.
  14. And where were you guys hiding? I was there (MRT Station area) till about 1850hrs and then left for home on a bus. Slacking too. Would usually run back but my bag and the items in it were not waterproofed.
  15. Traffic is not that heavy but you are right in that the pavement is rather narrow in some parts of the route ... not very good for running couples unless of course the intention is to get very close to each other. Having said that, since the distance to Sentosa is about only about 2.5km, you guys may want to consider Sentosa instead. It helps if you own an Islander Card so that you can run across the causeway for free.
  16. what is the route that u run ? cos I'm trying to think of new route for my run. Marina South is becoming a war zone to me liao ! Tanjong Pagar Rd, Keppel Rd (passing Malayan Raiway), Telok Blangah Rd (passing Sentosa, Vivo City and Harbour Front). Did a distance check from the jogging calculator. Actually the distance is just over 6.5km to Car Park A. I believe I took so long because of the traffic lights etc. and because I had to run with my backpack. Yeah! Excuses. Excuses. But, I think it's doable i.e. if you guys leave at 1845hrs, all should be back by 2030hrs depending on whether you guys want to go up the hill both ways or just do the flat at Labrador Park. Good thing about Labrador Park is that there are water fountains both on top of the hill and at the park itself. Okay, need to head off to the TNR @ the Running Lab now.
  17. I think the distance to Labrador Park is about 8km. That's where I currently train with the NTUC Climbathon team. Am making this guess because I take about 40mins to run there. Sentosa would be about 2/3 of the distance but it would be better if you have an Islander Card so that you can run across the causeway for free.
  18. Didn't know so much action took place y'day. Have to selectively pick my evening runs now as I am currently training with the NTUC Climbathon team. Sometimes it clashes with the CBD runs and TNR but when it doesn't, I need to get back early so that I can cycle with my kids and/or run with them. Will try to join you guys as and when time permits.
  19. The run on Tuesday (9 Jan) was a good one. Would have been better if there were less or no construction going on. Anyway, I'm now beginning to get to know the guys better but it's a little difficult for me as I need to go back home for dinner after the runs. You guys have assisted me a great deal in improving my timings and I do hope to improve on my timings further. Perhaps we can invite some sifus to give tips etc during some of our runs. Anyway, re 23 Jan, can I bring bananas? Terence
  20. Er, I ran only to the bus stop as the rain got too heavy for my non-waterproofed bag to handle. Had my phone etc in it and I didn't want to get them wet.
