Make-A-Wish Singapore, a non-profit organisation that creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, invites members of the public to kickstart the festive season with the first virtual Santa Run for Wishes 2020. An annual community and fundraising event by Make-A-Wish Singapore, Santa Run for Wishes returns for its seventh edition this year from 2-19 December 2020 with a brand-new format and exciting activities lined up for all participants.
With the aim to accumulate 21,517km – the distance from Singapore to the North Pole to bring Santa back to spread the festive joy, participants in the virtual run will be able to contribute to the journey by submitting their distance through the 42Race application (available for download on App Store and Google Play). Interested members of the public can register for the 2km, 5km, 10km or 50km (accumulative) race categories for $20 per race entry, with all proceeds going towards granting the wishes of children with critical illnesses.
Registration for the run is now open. Participants in the run can also take part in Santa’s little activities from now through the race period and stand a chance to win shopping vouchers worth up to $100 for each activity:
Follow Make-A-Wish Singapore on Facebook (@MakeAWishFoundationSingapore) and Instagram (@makeawishsingapore) to take part in the bi-weekly giveaways and stand a chance to win attractive prizes.
Dress up in your favourite festive costume while you run and share your photos with Make-A-Wish Singapore by tagging our social pages with the hashtag #SantaRunStyle to be crowned the Best Dressed Runner.
Clock the longest distance (accumulatively) during the race period from 2-19 December and receive a customised Santa Run for Wishes trophy.
Create a giving page on Make-A-Wish Singapore’s official Giving.sg page, include SR20 in the campaign name and indicate your bib number to start a fundraising campaign for Make-A-Wish Singapore. All proceeds will go directly to the organisation and contribute towards granting wishes of children with critical illnesses.
Enjoy the beautiful skyline as you run along the Marina Central district. Take a selfie at any one of these locations: Esplanade, Marina Square, Millenia Walk, South Beach and Suntec City in your background. Share your photos on the 42race feed and win shopping vouchers!
Stand a chance to win attractive prizes at the final Grand Draw of Santa Run for Wishes 2020. Stay tuned to Make-A-Wish Singapore’s Facebook and Instagram pages for more updates!
There are also other ways that participants and members of the public can get involved and help contribute to the organisation’s cause:
