Interview: MoonHub and Eliza

Interview: MoonHub and Eliza

Both SGRunners joined the online forum in 2007, Eliza in Jan and MoonHub in Dec. Both enjoyed taking part in races, especially shorter races ranging from 10ks to half marathons. So it was not difficult to predict who would come out on top in the 2007/2008 SGRunners Sprint Trophy Challenge. Eliza and MoonHub had each competed and completed 11 running competitive running events between 24 Jun 07 and 23 Jun 08, amassing a total of 165.800 pts and 182.500 pts respectively en route to winning the Women and Men’s Sprint Challenge Trophy. That was 105.950 pts (Eliza) and 53.100 pts (MoonHub) more than their nearest competitors! So what do these two SGRunners enjoy doing in their daily life besides running? Indulgence With The Ice-Cream Lover

For someone whose dad and brother used to be inter-school running champs, you would expect Roonz to turn out almost as competent. Fortunately, she was (and still is) more interested in eating than running, and that landed her in the infamous TAF club in secondary school. She didn’t mind at all, because she loved running so she had the best attendance record in the club.

In 2005, she decided that she needed some dates to look forward to: event dates. She started signing up for events, joined the forum, and never looked back since then. Roonz isn’t too interested in timings nor PBs; she believes in having fun, smiling at the cameras and enjoying herself at every race. To find out more about this not-so-mysterious ice-cream lover who completed her first triathlon and first marathon in 2007, click here to read our exclusive interview, brought to you by SGRunners.

Up Close & Personal With: Hedgehog

For those who take public transport, if you are observant enough, you’ll notice a familiar face from SGRunners while taking the escalators down to the platforms of City Hall or Orchard MRT stations. Yes, although not being the main poster boy for the Adidas / Standard Chartered Marathon poster, you can’t help but noticed his infectious smile at one corner of the poster, or over someone’s shoulder. And I guess not many will be as lucky as me to have a one-on-one date to talk about his love for sports and his dreams.

To find out more about Hedgehog, who just completed his 1st Half Ironman in Sep 07, Singapore with a respectable timing of 5 hours and 45 minutes, click here to read in another exclusive interview, brought to you by SGRunners. Who knows, you may be able to pick up some tips from his training regime.
