1 in 5 cancers occurring in Singaporean women is breast cancer.
3 women are being diagnosed with breast cancer each day.
About 270 women die from the disease each year.
1 in 20 women in Singapore will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime
But this year, you can make a difference and close the gap between the living and the dead. Come and Run For a Cause, to run the Standard Chartered Marathon 2006 to raise funds and bring hope to breast cancer patients.
The BCF-Standard Chartered Run For A Cause is an initiative to raise S$150,000 towards promoting breast cancer awareness, cancer screening programmes and providing support for women affected by breast cancer.
All we need are 500 runners who will each raise a minimum of S$300 using a Run for a Cause pledge card. As an incentive, Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon and Standard Chartered Bank will pay for your registration fee and give you a limited edition Run for a Cause T-shirt! Any distance is encouraged and every dollar raised will go a long way in helping BCF in their cause.
